Wetting agents for foliar spray: FAQ

1 - What are wetting agents?

A wetting agent is a surfactant that reduces the surface tension of a liquid. It allows the liquid to spread more easily, and wets surfaces more effectively.

2 - Is Surfaline® WA a surfactant?

Yes, Surfaline® WA functions as a specialty surfactant. It’s designed to enhance spreading and wetting without the downsides of traditional surfactants (e.g. excessive foaming, residue, harsh chemistry).

3 - What is a foliar application?

A foliar application is the direct application of water-soluble fertilizers to the leaves of plants to correct nutrient deficiencies, particularly nitrogen or micronutrients.

4 - What exactly does WA Surfaline® do?

Surfaline® WA reduces surface tension, allowing your fertilizer to spread more evenly across the leaf or soil surface. This improves nutrient coverage, wetting, and absorption, ultimately boosting fertilizer efficiency.

5 - Is Surfaline® WA compatible with my current formulation?

Surfaline® WA is compatible with a wide range of liquid fertilizer solutions, including NPKs and micronutrient blends. It’s easy to integrate without altering your existing formulation process.

6 - Is Surfaline® WA safe for crops and the environment?

Yes.  Surfaline® WA is biosourced and readily biodegradable. It’s designed to meet both performance and sustainability expectations.

7 - Can WA help me differentiate my fertilizer product?

Definitely. With Surfaline® WA , you can offer a “value-added” formulation — one that performs better, aligns with eco-friendly agriculture trends, and brings real technical benefits to end-users.
