Calcium Carbonate Beneficiation
Calcium carbonate is beneficiated for use in the paper, paint, plastics, pharmaceutical, and food industries and is also used in adhesives and caulks, joint and latex carpet compounds, and flooring and roofing materials.
Producing high-purity calcium carbonate is a challenge since it is rarely found in its pure form and is most often associated with several gangue minerals. Calcium carbonate beneficiation using the flotation process to remove contaminants such as iron, magnesium, and silica/silicates is required. Arkema’s high-grade cationic collectors and flocculants have been developed for this particular purpose and are custom-formulated to meet customer-specific plant needs. Our technical experts will work closely with you to custom-formulate a flotation reagent suite and flowsheet design for your unique calcium carbonate beneficiation process.
