DUSTROL® Fertilizer Dust Control Coatings for the Crop Nutrition Industry

Product overview
DUSTROL® fertilizer dust control coatings provide long-lasting fugitive dust control across the fertilizer supply chain from production to field application, helping crop nutrition producers and those who handle fertilizers across the supply chain meet their environmental, health and safety goals. DUSTROL® coatings may also provide additional benefits such as fertilizer caking control and/or coloration.

DUSTROL® Fertilizer Dust Control Coatings

Dry fertilizers are inherently dusty products. During fertilizer production, storage, transportation and field application there is often significant generation of fugitive dust as particles degrade. In some cases, imperfect production processes can result in overly fragile fertilizer which tends to partially deteriorate into fugitive dust at any given stage in the fertilizer process. Not only is there a loss of valuable crop nutrition product as dust drifts away from its intended location, but fugitive dust emissions also create significant air quality issues.

The DUSTROL® line of fertilizer dust control coatings, when applied to granular fertilizers, are effective for dust prevention and mitigation at various stages in the crop nutrition supply chain from production to field application.

DUSTROL® fertilizer dust control coatings:

  • Provide robust, long-lasting fugitive dust control.
  • Are relatively easy to apply to dry fertilizer in a typical operation.
  • Have minimal impact on the flowability of the treated fertilizer.
  • Are made of ingredients suitable for safe use in the facilities where they are applied as well as for all downstream uses and applications including agriculture.
  • Do not undermine the treated fertilizer’s ability to comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Enhance the treated fertilizer’s marketability.
  • Reduce operational cost and increase site efficiency
  • Are economical.

In addition to fugitive dust control, DUSTROL® fertilizer dust control coatings can contribute additional benefits of fertilizer caking control and/or coloration. DUSTROL® coatings help fertilizer producers and those who handle fertilizers across the fertilizer supply chain meet their environmental, health and safety goals.
