CustoFloc® Flocculants
Flocculants are used in the mining industry to treat the water used in the mineral extraction and flotation processes. Mining flocculants are used to clean flotation process water to reduce reagent consumption and improve recovery. They are also employed in discharge mine wastewater treatment so that stringent environmental standards can be met.
The CustoFloc® line includes mine dewatering / filter aids, mine water clarifiers, clay settling aids, phosphate rock slurry thickeners and more. CustoFloc® filter aids improve mineral concentrate filtration for better mining filtration efficiency, and CustoFloc® mine dewatering aids reduce the moisture content of mineral concentrates resulting in improved drying of concentrate for storage and transportation. These products also improve water recovery and water efficiency in wet mineral processing applications. CustoFloc® polymer-based mine water clarifiers are developed to efficiently clean muddy mine water, and facilitate recycling or environmentally acceptable clean water discharge.
During phosphoric acid production from phosphate rock, many wet process phosphoric acid plants use filtration aids to improve gypsum slurry filtration, and hence increase production rates and recovery. CustoFloc® filter aids are formulated to improve any phosphoric acid plant production rate by adjusting molecular weight and/or charge to meet the particular operating conditions of each individual operation, as well as the unique characteristics of the particular phosphoric acid/gypsum slurry being delivered from the reactors to the filters. Our filtration aids have demonstrated the ability to improve filtration rates as well as filtration capacity.
Clarification processes are also used during phosphoric acid production from phosphate rock to remove contaminants from the acid quickly by accelerating settling time. CustoFloc® polymeric clarifiers or clarification aids are tailor-made to significantly reduce the amount of time required to remove impurities from phosphoric acid once it leaves the production process. They remove more impurities faster, for a higher quality phosphoric acid and improved downstream fertilizer grade. CustoFloc® clarification aids deliver significant benefits for 25-54% strength acids.
